2025 CAI Community Association Law Seminar
The Community Associations Institute (CAI) is a national education and advocacy organization dedicated to addressing all aspects of common-interest communities and hosts an annual Community Association Law Seminar. Our firm is excited to announce that two of our attorneys, Nick Barnes and Chris Isbel, will be presenting at this year’s seminar, tackling critical legal topics that directly impact community associations.
“50 Shades of Ethical Gray”
In this presentation, Nick will equip association leaders and legal professionals with the tools they need to uphold integrity while representing clients. With the nuances of ethical conduct being particularly challenging in community association settings—where legal decisions can deeply impact residents and governance—this presentation will provide attendees with a clearer framework for making ethically sound decisions, even when the answers are not black and white.
“Flag on the Play: How to Handle Flags, Banners, and Signs”
Chris will be going through the legal and practical considerations surrounding flags, banners, and signs within community associations. This presentation will provide valuable insights into managing enforcement of flags and signs when they clash with community association rules, covenants, or aesthetic guidelines, helping associations strike a balance between personal expression and upholding the values and guidelines of the community.
